this book is the embodiment of female rage- the anger i felt alongside the protagonist, the sadness all of it was so good. such an excellent greek myth retelling

Clytemnestra is King Agamemnon's wife, though not by choice. In this mythology retelling, we get to learn about her early life in Sparta with her sister Helen and other siblings, and then we follow her story as the 10 year war and seige of Troy happens.
I really enjoyed this book in general. I felt the first half was much more interesting then the second but it still managed to hold my attention throughout. I love mythology retellings so this was completely up my alley but I had high hopes for it, and thankfully, it didn't disappoint. Overall an enjoyable book that is well written but if mythology is not your thing then perhaps not a wower.

In Jennifer Saint's Elektra, I understood the daughter. Now in Costanza Casati's book, I understand the mother, Clytemnestra. A wonderful read that had me turning the next page with both anticipation and wariness.

 This book was so incredible that I finished all but the last two chapters in one sitting. I truly couldn't put it down. It embodies the "I support women's rights and women's wrongs" trope with the perfect blend of strong female characters and female rage. 10/10. I will absolutely be revisiting this one.
