I had heard about the book on TT as being a fairy smut novel, but this turned out to be a great disappointment. Not only for the laxk of smut, but it was an almost copy of The beauty and the beast (but fairy edition). I’m not a huge fan of fairies so if you don’t come into it with an adoration already, save some time and pick up another book

Listen....I don't know why this book interested me as much as it did. Like I was FULLY invested in Feyre and the fae boys. Also quite a bit darker and super gruesome towards the back half. I'm intrigued though to say the least...

I first read this book in May 2015, around the time it first came out. I then read the rest of the trilogy as those were releasing. Never read the novella and beyond.

I remember this installment being the worst (to me), and that still holds true in 2025. I just do not like Feyre in this story. She irritates the everloving piss out of me.

I liked this far more than I thought I would. I actually really appreciated the story building, romance tension (and I'm not a romance reader), and the descriptions of the characters and environment. Looking forward to continuing the series.
