I feel like this is one of the silliest books, if not the silliest book, I have ever finished, but I also couldn’t put it down? I definitely wouldn’t call it good, but it reads like something smutty off fanfiction dot net circa 2002, so it’s a certain kind of cozy (for something with a fair amount of gore in it). I’m about Maas’s age so it makes sense.

It’s a little noncon so if you’re sensitive to that maybe avoid it.

I really devoured the book. A very exciting story in a beautifully described fantasy world. Reminded me a bit of Beauty and the Beast, but with quite a different development of the storyline. I'm already looking forward to the next volumes in the series.

I finally got around to reading this book.  I liked it, but it didn't capture me like Rebecca Yarros's "Fourth Wing" (Empyrean series) did.

I can’t believe I’ve actually read this. Graphic audio is wonderful, there should be graphic audio for every book ever cuz that was wonderful (except for the moaning) some of it was really funny cuz I was listening to it at 1.5x speed (like a normal person) and listening to sped up moans, laughs and music was definitely a bonus.
I’m excited to see how she ends up with Rhys cuz like she seems happy but like I can already tell she’s better with Rhys LIKE COME ON
I do really like Lucien cuz he’s just a mean twink. If he ends up being not even a bit fruity I will be angry. (And I will be cuz this is SJM so I’m not expecting much)

Feyre was annoying, Tamlin was boring, Rhysand was interesting until he was super gross, and everyone else was just kind of there. Amarantha was pretty cool though. The beginning is almost unbearably slow and confusing (not a great combination) but I will say that the last 20% is pretty fun to read if you don't think about it and take everything at face value lol.

Would have gotten at least 3 stars if it didn't have my least favorite trope: sexual assault that is treated like it's sexy because the perpetrator is attractive.

Apparently the second book in the series is good which is the only reason I did not def 100 pages in.

Why did people ever like Tamlin? He is toxic from the start!🤔

Amazing start to the series. Sarah J Maas is a wonderful writer, who so eloquently told the story of Feyre and Tamlin, the Faries and Pyrthian. From her little cottage, to the Spring Court, the Under the Mountain it was a wild adventurous ride. Can’t wait for book 2!
