The book was slow and I get that the author needed to establish like the wonder of the world and like what Feyre was fighting for, her love for Tamlin and the reader needed to see that to understand it but I took up like half the book and felt like a lie for what the rest of the series is gonna be. Overall the book is really predictable the only twist I experienced was when Alis told Feyre about the curse but everything else after that felt cliche or easy. Like I knew the answer to the riddle when I read it the first couple of times but of course Feyre can’t figure anything out until it’s in her face
. Classic young adult adventure romance trope overall. Mashup of beauty and the beast with twilight not gonna lie. Interested enough to keep going though, super boring the first couple of chapters especially cause Tamlin’s name wasn’t even established for a while.

Some serious injuries happen to the main character that made this book less enjoyable for me. It’s like 3 hours of torture immediately into a spicy scene? Questionable. You’re not missing anything if you skip this one, there’s nothing wildly magnetic about the writing.

Had to fight the urge to run to the store and immediately buy the next book.

It's entertaining, but nothing more (for me at least) Maybe it's the way the audiobook I listened to, but I honestly think both Feyre and Tamlin are charming pieces of cardboard. Rhysand was the only interesting character imo. But I guess that's what is expected of this type of book. I get why people like it, but it's not for me.

If I'm going to continue this series, I'm definitely going to be reading, instead of listening.

First of all - how did she get away with naming her two MCs Fairy and Tam Lin lmaooo

Phrases used so often as to be distracting: intrinsically human, feral, growl, shredded to ribbons

I can see why people like it, it’s a fast read with characters you feel like you know. I’ll prob read the rest of the series but I have definitely read better books
