I can see why people don’t like this book but I loved it! I’ve heard people say that it’s really repetitive but Feyre is an artist and resource full and is constantly paying attention to detail and running things over in her brain. This book is in her POV and it takes a deep dive into her mind. It’s amazing

I really enjoyed this book! Although the pacing was inconsistent, being slow in the first half of the story then faster in the second half, I feel it lended itself to the reader getting to truly know Feyre and becoming emotionally invested in her relationship with Tamlin. I loved how dynamic Feyre was; her character development was so rich and multifaceted, and I appreciated how she could be ruthless but remorseful, guarded but gentle, or valiant but vulnerable. Her strength and devotion were inspiring, and the sacrifices she made for numerous people were selfless even if excruciating. I am eager to see where her journey next leads!

Do not know why this book is so highly rated 😩 All development between characters was so cheap. Show not tell is important, and obviously this author doesn’t know it. Suddenly her characters are in love for absolutely no reason or build. High potential, but absolutely missed the mark.

This is a very popular fantasy book and I was expected it to be as good as advertised. While ACOTAR was an overall enjoyable read for me, the book had a few very glaring things it lacked. I enjoy a thick book with a lot of world-building, and this one fits that description. There is a rich history in the lands of Pyrthian, that I want to know more.

But I don't like lackluster characters, and the MCs are lacking in depth. Their relationship also sorely lacks, and while it's obvious to everyone around them it is being forced, the allusion to a Beauty & Beast trope didn't work for me. I found the supporting characters of Lucien and Rhysand were more interesting to me than Feyra and Tamlin.

This book also comes with a number of trigger warnings for me, including toxic/abusive relationships, ablism, Stockholm syndrome, and violence of multiple kinds. I will at least give the next book a chance to further develop the depths of the characters before washing my hands of the series, because I loved the world the story is set in so much.

This book does fantasy and romance right! I’m really picky about fantasy and I generally don't like romance unless it’s nestled in an already good story and I found this book so satisfying. I cannot wait to read everything about the ACOTR world!
