The first third is a slog, the middle is solid, and the end is torture. Too much of the book is bleak and hopeless. Fate is a huge theme in the book, but it robs the characters of autonomy.

Oh. My. Gosh. This book was even better than I thought I would be. I knew this was one of the top books/series last year so I was so excited to finally pick it up for myself and boy did it not disappoint. The writing was so good and the story kept me wanting to turn the page and find out what happens next. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series. 20/10 book!
