This book was 100% trash between the weird possessiveness of Des and the odd kinks of Callie, the constant sex scenes and the plot that mostly meandered towards an inevitable cliff-hanger that was alluded to many chapters before. Yet I read it. Despite the typos and the grammar errors. I didn't fully hate it, despite thinking both characters were morons.
Des is needlessly secretive. Callie is incredibly dumb and naive and easily distracted by sex and prone to theatrics and randomly spouting inner monologue straight out of a 14 year old emo kid's diary, a constant sort of "he's my dark prince and I'm under his deadly melodic spell" or some shit that makes no sense in the middle of a scene where they're fucking in a pool, or declaring their love for each other.
But will I read the next one? You wanna bet I will.
I can't even mention any good points of the book. The intrigue in the bad guy's plot is not engaging because any time you get invested, the idiot brigade go and do something else (usually boning) for a few chapters.
I keep forgetting these characters are supposed to be fae because they don't act like it at all. Des doesn't even do his deals that got him his name and the title of the series any more.
