This one was.. kind of weird? I think I liked it. Lots of discussion and off page sexual assault though.

The first part of the book was still okay, their touring the cities were nice and sweet.
Second part of the book was not executed well. It seemed like the majority of the characters were given traits to act without their brains just to get the plot moving. Callie especially was being extra stupid. She was this way leading up to the finale but we never get to see her consequences, like she has infinite luck and things turn out for the better just because. Other than that, during the final scene, what she did was despicably dumb that
SpoilerI'd think I'd be happier if she were to really die. Callie, I get that you want to kill him and all, but can you not pull out the only thing that's stopping your bleeding? Just pick up another damn weapon.

But overall, I think this is book is more on developing their bond and Callie getting know more of Des's backstory--more like a big set up for book three because there isn't much plot here. The book was pretty linear in plot but has more dimension in characters compared to the first one!

Hmm I don’t have too much to say on this one. It wasn’t anything incredible but neither was it awful. The plot surrounding the mystery of the missing Fae definitely furthered things along and I was most interested in that bit. There was some more plot with Callie and Des’s relationship, which felt a little different vibe wise in this book but I still appreciated the communication between them. They aren’t perfect, but they do attempt to talk and share things with each other. We get to meet other kingdoms in this book and there was a bit of court posturing going on, which I wasn’t really interested in reading about, alot of the conversations felt repetitive.
But otherwise a good read!
