I liked the story, the artwork was fantastic, but the ending was abrupt and kind of sucked.
On re-reading, I still had the same thoughts. And as much as Iron Man (or maybe just Robert Downey Jr.) has grown on me from watching the Marvel movies, I hate him in this Civil War story line.

La motivacion de Tony para defender la iniciativa del gobierno es tonta, toda la trama es coja, y los personajes son retratados de forma simplona, yo leí este comic en menos de una hora en una libreria, no vale la pena comprarlo, la verdad no se como esta historia está tan bien puntuada y recomendada a mi me parece que si uno se lo compra, ademas que es bastante caro, le estarian viendo la cara poruqe lo unico interesante es que salen muchos superheroes , que aveces ni dicen una sola linea, le puse dos estrella solo por el arte del dibujante y nada mas.

I rated this a 4 star originally based on my memory of the story, but upon re-reading it I can say it's easily a 5 star. My biggest qualm is with the ending, but the overall story itself is a must-read.

After all of the action and fighting the ending of this main set of issues wasn't as strong as I wanted. Thankfully I have been reading all the others alongside it and I truly think this is one of the more medium volumes.
I recommend the Civil War runs of: Amazing Spiderman, Front Lines (V1 & 2), and Black Panther for some more emotional depth and scale.

I love seeing how some of the panels and storyline points were adapted into various parts of the MCU so far.

What I absolutely love about this comic is that it is never truly clear with whose side the reader should agree. There is never any definite right or wrong answer because both sides have their merits as well as their drawbacks. Both sides cause death, destruction, and neither faction seems to understand that the general idea of the "exception" is something that this universe has been struggling with since day one. They live outside of the law, governing themselves, and exacting justice where and when they see fit. Superhero registration does not and cannot change that because of the mere principal of the matter being that these people are SUPERhuman--ABOVE and BEYOND what a normal human being can achieve. The Marvel universe might appear to need these people in order to maintain regulation, but to what extent does that order benefit the populous with the price being granting these heroes anonymity and being exceptions to the law? All of these thoughts make for an interesting premise for this comic, which I thoroughly enjoyed!

Great series. ending left me bummed though.
Civil War has become something of a main-stream comic series, if only because of the movies that have come out around it. The comic series itself did not disappoint (Though I'll admit I have a few more spin-off ones to read).
I was team Captain since the beginning. Perhaps it's because I'm a huge star wars nerd and Rebel, or perhaps it's because I don't believe in giving up freedom for the sake of security. Though this series does an excellent job of portraying Iron Man's side of things and his reasons. You can't really fault or hate either side during this conflict as no one is really doing it for nefarious reasons. It's a point of view issue and that's it.
I will point one thing out that had me leaning towards Cap'n's side more strongly and that's the fact that Iron Man's team were experimenting on clones, people, locking up their own friends, killed their own friend etc.
It seems like a lot of big events push you to believe that Captain America is the good guy and Iron Man is the bad guy. So the ending left me kind of bummed, even though it was Captain America's choice to step down. They were winning after all.
