This series is an achievement of brutal near-perfection. Not to be missed.

(grr. having the goodreads review page open for >24 hours makes submitting it destined to fail, and lose everything you wrote.) The events in this volume felt a little staged (e.g. handwaving a new relationship for the MC), all to set up an epic multi-character showdown, that was a little unnecessary and kinda took me out of its trademark gritty realism. But in the end credits, Aaron mentions that this series was basically his second gig as a writer. If so, that's pretty impressive. Glad I read it, thx to Matt for the recommendation.

Great crime series but really much more than that. How we deal with loss, the past, traditions and the truth behind it all.
Art by [a:R.M. Guéra|2817232|R.M. Guéra|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1583095098p2/2817232.jpg] was gritty and a bit rough which fit the story to a tee. This was my first introduction to [a:Jason Aaron|580494|Jason Aaron|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1528539067p2/580494.jpg] and I personally believe this is his strongest work.

8/10 for the entire series

Wow..just wow is all I can say. This series felt like a crazy roller coaster with all the characters. I'm kind of upset about the way it ended, but still this was a great read!
