I really enjoyed this look into this characters life. I was getting worried with the progression of her growth which I still am not in love with. (hence the 4 stars) She kinda got all her growth at once at the end but I think the saving grace was that Carrie Soto didnt win and was okay with that. She needed to be humbled by a loss I think and discover life isnt all about winning. I'm glad the author did that and made a really believable character. Even though all the growth happened quickly it made sense for Carrie. She had drastic life change and needed to recalibrate. Super good read!

The women in this story all made me very angry. I didn’t like any of them. Carrie Soto does not have a redemption arc at all and she stays being annoying and 1 level.

Carrie Soto is not a likeable character, and somehow I want her to win more than anything. There's something so refreshing about a character as tenacious as Carrie, and I am inspired by not just her determination, but her absolute faith in herself. I have never disliked and yet rooted for a character more, which is a testament to Taylor Jenkins Reid's character building abilities.

maybe my favourite TJR book besides that one line that carrie said that made me cringe. also i know it’s not the strongest romance/love story but i enjoy carrie and bowe (which i thought was spelt beau as i listened to the audio book and then i found out
it was not)
