Book 2, 3.5 stars. It felt like just a continuation or transition piece, not really making big advances and yes, a bit repetitious. Abigail is the damsel that Valroy likes to tease, she still holds the line against what he is prophesied to do.

Abi wakes up as a wood wife, Nymph, and Seelie to boot and is apparently more powerful than Titania which mixes things up in the Fae world. Valroy is grieving her death and when he finds out she is alive- is very angry she did not return to him. She has 2 "guardians" that convince her to go to the City of Dawn to try to strengthen her powers. It all goes awry.

Valroy seems to be evil and angry or besotted and teasing/laughing, and he seems to go to either extreme pretty quickly. Still pretty hot.

I love how Valroy and Anfar nearly destroy each other because Anfar told Valroy thatwhat he was feeling was love. And Perrin- what a sweetie. Anfar, was a bit heartbreaking for him to have to put Astasha out of her misery. And she knew who he was as he twisted her neck- did he not know in that moment that she knew?? No expansion of thought was given on this, just grief.

Oh man! That was so good! I absolutely wish I could see what Abigail looks like, Kathryn did just a great job with her details. I can not wait to see her get comfortable in her skin and see what she is capable of! I very much enjoy Valroy, he’s such a devious wildcard. I’m curious if he will be able to follow through with his plans now. I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Titania at the beginning, I thought she might try to do something to Abigail, but I’m glad my suspicions were wrong. I love how easy we were able to pick up where we left off from book one. Kathryn did great with her world building and just being super descriptive with the seelie and unseelie courts as they change from day to night. Super excited to continue the story in the next book!
