:O :O THAT ENDING THOUGH.
Literally sped through this book in less than 24 hours. So captivating and wonderfully written. GAH. I think I like this series better than Divergent. *avoids flying food*. SOOOO GOOOD

This was a big improvement and built on all of the potential of the first book really well!

Oh wow the cliff hanger had me screaming "NOOOOO YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME LIKE THIS!!!!!" A lot is happening in Lena's world in this book she had to deal with life after escaping and all the pains that comes with it realizing that she no longer has the comforts such as food, showers, clothing, a bed and of course life without Alex. It goes back in forth in setting showing Then for her life after leaving Portlnad and Now for her life now working with the resistance. At first this going back and forth irrated me cause I would get to caught up in the story wheather it was Then or Now and then it would switch. You felt all of Lena's confusion with this new life she had to qucikly adapt to or her grief of not only Alex but Hana and Grace in her Then portion but also of her feelings she starts to have for a boy named Julian, you see it as a widow feeling guilty to have affections towards another after losing their spouse. I really didn't want Lena to like anyone but Alex which of course is unfair but hey it suppose to be them forever and no one else should enter her mind for a long time. This book has a couple of revalations but also more questions arise too. All I can say is move this to the top of your pile if you have not tead this yet and now I am eagarly waiting book three cause it's gonna be a good one.

Eeek....3 stars is stretching it. Maybe 2.5 stars. The eerie plot is gone and we get this back and forth to reality style. The general message is there but it doesn't draw the reader in like the first book in the series. I will read the last book just to finish the series but before I do I'm going to listen to a different kind of audio book.....I need a break from this world.
