Couldn’t get into the writing style as much in this book. Was also so hung up on Alex still that the idea of her and Julian… I was not fully invested in.

This book was very slow at first but then I grew to love it and could not put it down

Although this book ended pretty much exactly as I anticipated that it would, it was enjoyable to read and I will definitely check out the final book in the trilogy to see how it all turns out.

No sabía si leerme el segundo, ya que el primero no me convenció del todo, pero una amiga me dijo que estaba genial y decidí leerlo. No me arrepiento.

Genial desarrollo del personajes, nuevos e increíbles personajes y una historia mejor que la del primer libro, le doy un 5/5.

Lena and the plot became more complex in this book. It's as if the story and the characters matured at the same time.

so Alex still alive and Lena fall for Julian.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit although the ending I could have done without. I don't really think every storyline needs to be turned into a trilogy but I've already marked the next book "to read" as I will definitely need to have closure now. I would have been perfectly fine if the book ended before the last few lines and everyone
Spoilerlived happily ever after picking flowers in their shabby makeshift houses off the grid
. But obviously things can't be that way in this genre. Gotta have the 3 books and gotta throw in that twist at the end. I knew at the back of my mind that what would happen would happen. That the book was just ending too quickly without the elephant in the room being addressed
SpoilerAlex - obviously!
.

In the beginning I kind of liked going back and forth between "then" and "now" but after awhile, it got old and I just wanted to "live" in the now and didn't need anymore of the back-story getting in the way of the all the more pressing action in the present. I was glad when the "then" plot line finally matched up to the "now" plot line so I wouldn't have to anxiously wait to figure out what was going on. The "now" portions definitely had me more on the edge of my seat than the "then" portions probably because there was so much talk of
Spoilerdeath and lack of food and fears of freezing
when obviously you knew they would get through it all.

Overall an enjoyable read but now I'm more than a little annoyed that I wanted to read it immediately after it was released since the next book comes out exactly a year from now! Seriously? I love how this story is told in alternating then and now chapters. It felt like I was reading two different books at the same time, each chapter would end on such a cliffhanger but I was so excited to continue with the other story (not sure if that makes sense...). I could see how this style could be confusing for some, but personally I LOVED it. OMG and that ending!! Requiem here I come!
