I really enjoyed it. The characters were superb and the story was excellent. I really enjoyed the mystery surrounding it all. Can't wait to read the next one.

I really liked this. The characters are fleshed out and well-developed, the writing is good and the plot is fascinating. I love the cross between archaeology and history and space and the cliffhanger was great. I cannot wait for whenever book 2 is released.

Well the ending has me shaken to my core. I honestly don't have a clue where this is going but I am looking forward to reading the sequel to get some answers!
This story was good and had a very interesting premise. As the book went on I got more and more confused about who the Undying were and what their agenda was so that kept a lot of intrigue. The puzzles in the temples were okay but I feel that there want much description of them after the first one with the bridge which was a little disappointing.
The main issue I had with this book was the romance between Mia and Jules. It wasn't until about 3/4 of the way through that I didn't cringe at their thoughts about each other "You get me hot and bothered, Mia" ew. It started very soon in the book which was odd since they has just met an it often seemed forced and crop up in places randomly and throw me off the flow of the story. The attraction in the last 1/4 of the book was more believable and didn't make me cringe anymore though which made it much more enjoyable.
Overall I liked the story I just wished there were more puzzles and fewer cringing moments.

Alright I can't lie, I actually still have about 30 pages of this book to go. I started reading it during my last week of maternity leave and then it just kind of fell by the wayside as I got back to work and picked up other things (I own the books so I didn't feel rushed to finish it unlike all of the library books I've been checking out). At this point I couldn't possible write a good review or even feel comfortable leaving a rating because there has been such a long stretch from when I first started it until now. I love every other think that Kaufman has written so just know that I did like this book, I just got sidetracked and will someday pick it back up to give it the review and rating that it truly deserves!

Inhalt
Die Menschen haben eine Botschaft aus dem All bekommen. Durch die Entschlüsselung war es möglich ein Portal zu bauen das auf einen fremden Planeten führt: Gaia. Dort gibt es einen geheimnisvollen Tempel. Jules, der Sohn des ersten Übersetzers der Botschaft will nichts mehr als ans innere zu gelangen, doch damit ist er nicht alleine. Denn auch Mia will den Schatz für sich beanspruchen umso ihre Schwester freizukaufen. Beide sind Rivalen doch sie sind nicht die Einzigen die hinter dem unbekannten Schatz her sind.
Schreibstil
War nicht schlecht, aber konnte nicht überzeugen. Wir bekommen abwechselnd die Sicht von Jules und Mia, was uns ermöglicht das Innenleben beider Protagonisten kennenzulernen. Leider gab es fast keine direkten Reden, obwohl die das Beste waren. Viele wiederholende Erinnerungen und schlecht beschriebene Orte. Ich konnte mir kaum ein Bild von den Räumen oder dem Planeten machen und dadurch fehlte mir ein Inneres Bild... =( Sehr, sehr schade!
Persönliche Meinung
Cover SUPER! Und auch die beiden Autoren mochte ich bei These Broken Stars sehr... unglücklicherweise war dieses Buch eher ein Flop für mich. Ein Teil war sicherlich der eher schlechte Schreibstil, aber auch die Story konnte mich nicht fesseln. Ein bisschen Indiana Jones mit einem Sci-Fi touch. Die Rätsel in dem Tempel wären cool gewesen aber mangels der Beschreibungen ehe unspektakulär.

Auch die Charaktere Jules und Mia konnten mich nicht überzeugen. Leider gibt’s auch ne Insta-Lovestory... nicht, dass dies etwas Besonderes wäre, kommt es doch zu 90% im YA Bereich vor, aber ich habe mich für beide einfach null interessiert. Von neben Charakteren ganz zu schweigen... seufz, ich habe mich so auf das Buch gefreut.

Ich hatte es zusammen mit zwei Freundinnen gelesen, die derselben Meinung sind. Nicht direkt langweilig, aber leider auch nicht spannend. Ausser vielleicht die Letzen beiden Seiten. Die waren natürlich so toll, dass man unbedingt wissen will wie es weitergeht... aber leider passe ich.
