Good book, adventurous and fun characters. Darker moments but a cute romance between the mc’s. Overall would recommend for dystopian/sci-fi  lovers , or people who want to get into the genre. (The puzzles/riddles were all very fun to try and figure out!)

It was only illness that kept me from devouring this in one day. If I can say one thing, why did nobody tell me it wasn't a stand-alone?!

I fell in love with the book pretty quickly, even quicker than with the Illuminae Files, and fell hook, line and sinker for Jules Addison. I don't know if it was his nerdy naivety, cute little habits or his English-ness (Oxford represent!) but he took home in my heart. A heart that was in my mouth for so much of the book as they explored the temple and then as they tried to navigate life afterwards. I was so ready for a conclusion but then BAM! Nope, this is not the end. With it only just released, how am I going to cope until a sequel arrives? I need to know more!!!

I am a huge fan of Amie Kaufman's other titles, so I had no doubt I would enjoy UNEARTHED. Kaufman and Megan Spooner are an incredible writing team. UNEARTHED kept me hooked right from page one. The action is intense, the intimate moments are touching, the characters are real and fleshed out, and the ending OMG THAT ENDING. I can't wait for book 2 and the first installment hasn't even been released yet! Another excellent first book in what I am certain will be an amazing series.

*Disclaimer: I received a digital ARC of this title from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is my second time reading unearthed. I love this books so much everything about it is amazing. I love the characters, the relationship, the world, the twists and turns, and the puzzles. This book is pitched as Indiana Jones meets Tomb raider in space and that is exactly what you get from this amazing story. I can’t yell it loud enough that everyone should read this book. Plus Jules has snagged himself a spot in my book or best book boyfriends.

Unearthed takes place in a world where life on Earth has been severely imperiled by climate change and humans are attempting to solve the puzzle of whether an ancient race of aliens, the Undying, has left behind technology that could be used to help save humanity. Mia sees a scavenger mission on the desolate planet of Gaia as her way of earning enough money to save her sister Evie. Jules wants to learn if his father’s theories about the Undying and their possibly impure intentions toward humanity are correct, which leads him to join a shady exploration mission in Gaia. Things quickly go wrong and what follows is an eventful science fiction thriller.

The plot was entertaining and I enjoyed all of the puzzles this book is packed with. There’s also a healthy dose of suspicion between Jules and Mia, who have to work together if they both want to achieve their goals. This conflict was more interesting to me than their efforts to explore hidden temples and solve old mysteries.

I really wish there had been a bit more attention devoted to world-building. The settings weren’t described in a lot of detail and it would’ve been nice to have a better understanding of the factors on Earth that shaped Jules and Mia’s character development. This lack of world-building made it hard for me to feel any deep investment toward what happened to Jules and Mia.

Unearthed was entertaining but missing a few things that would’ve made it a really compelling read for me. I don’t anticipate reading the sequel.

Oh my, Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner has done it once again! This has topped to one of my favourites!

The feel to this story is absolutely amazing. A new barren world with unyielding surroundings, temples million of years old, puzzles and mazes to complete, a heart stopping romance and Earth on the line. What more would you want?

This story has so many twists and turns, forever making you second guess what is happening in front of your eyes. You are constantly only holding on with the tips of you hands in this world, with all your might holding onto this wonderful trek. Your eyes wide with wonder.

Mia is here to save her sister, who no one should no about. Risking everything to help the one she loves. Jules is here to show his dad is innocent. To save earth from the hidden warnings in the messages.

This world has be broken, it has ripped my heart out and handed it back in shreds. It has made my jaw drop and my eyes go extremely wide.

Over all this is an utterly beautiful read, setting you up for a new story, making you want more.

This was amazing! and that ending.. do do really have to wait for the next one!!
