The Summer Deal is the fifth book in the Wildstone series by the talented Jill Shalvis. I’m loving this series and I really enjoyed The Summer Deal. It's not just about Brynn's journey to find herself and finding Eli again in the process. She also finds her half-sister and friends who become more like family. Her moms love her to death, but she's never had more than that. Nothing real. Until she reconnects with Eli, someone she knew at summer camp so many years ago. She doesn't trust anyone, especially men, but Eli is going to prove he's worth taking a risk for. He's had a crush on Brynn since they were kids and now that she's back home and all woman, it's even stronger. He has his work cut out for him though. We also get to know Kinsey, Brynn's sister, who has been sick her whole life. She won't let people get close to her because she's afraid. Kinsey and Deck have a benefits only relationship, but Deck wants more. So much more. Brynn and Kinsey may not have been raised together, but they are more alike than they ever thought possible. Can they stop running from love and finally be there for each other? I loved that it was a twofer! Brynn and Eli and Kinsey and Deck. I was equally invested in both relationships and loved the dynamic between the four of them and Eli's brother, Max. Overall, I laughed, teared up, laughed more, got upset and smiled! Looking forward to more from the series!

His hair was wet, like he'd just showered, but the sexy stubble on his jaw said he hadn't shaved. He was barefoot and wearing a pair of reading glasses. Be still her heart A sexy nerd.

"Listen to what I'm saying. You should be running from the inevitable implosion that this would cause you."
"Define 'this'."
"You just want me to say the words."
"Yes. Use the words. Use the dirtiest words possible."

"He's wonderful."
"But he's also a man. And where there's a penis, there's trouble."

"Tabitha called me the b-word."
"Motherfucker doesn’t start with b."

Brynn is having a hard time with life so she comes home to lick her wounds and straighten her life out. Her moms are so happy to have her back but they are a little overbearing so she wants to be close but also on her own. So she finds a room for rent from some unlikely of friends who were camp buddies.
I loved the concept and I liked that they become this family of sorts. There was a LOT of miscommunication normally I hate this but I loved it in this book for some reason.

Kinsey is an interesting one and I get why she didn’t want to tell Brynn because she was scared of anyone else hurting if/when she died. But she also hurts herself in that process and I liked that everyone rallied around her to get her to see that by not letting people in hurts them and her. It was a good lesson I think we all need to learn too.

Great narration!! I am so glad these books are Erin Mallon because I adore her narration.

Here we follow Brynn and Kinsey who used to go to summer camp together when they were younger but never liked each other. Years later they are once again thrown together but this time there is much more going on. Enter Eli who is Kinsey's best friend but has a thing for Brynn. I really loved this one like I have all the others by her. I loved Kinsey's character and her harsh self defense mechanism and her relationship with Deck! This story tackles family in all forms and battling illness. Such a great read, highly recommend!

The Summer Deal is the 5th book in the Wildstone series. It can be read as a stand alone. This story is told starts out with Brynn being left by her boyfriend with nothing. He stole almost all of her stuff and left her homeless. She returns home to her mom's. While there she has a panic attack, and they think it's a heart attack so they get her to the hospital.

Brynn runs into Eli who was her first kiss and friend at summer camp when they were younger. He offers her a room at his place. When she gets there she realizes her enemy from camp Kinsey is there as well. We then hear Kinsey's point of view, and she's having a rough time with a kidney refusal.

Kinsey is keeping a secret from Brynn. That they are half sisters. Brynn starts having feelings for Eli, and Kinsey and Brynn start being friendly to each other. Can Brynn help Kinsey with her kidney? Can Kinsey let Brynn in all her secrets. Can Brynn learn to trust in Eli after her boyfriend left her with nothing?

I really enjoyed this book.
