This book was lyrically enjoyable, but I was a bit thrown by the ‘ghost story’.

It was not my favorite book, but I would recommend it. There were so many moving pieces… grabbing attention for some parts, but it felt drawn out.

Very interesting historical fiction novel. Story line is a bit long-winded at times, and the sheer amount of characters are difficult to keep up with. As a whole, the story is beautiful and heartbreaking at times. Overall I enjoyed this book very much.

This wasn't my favourite KM book. All of the others have dropped me from beginning to end, but this one was a bit slower in pace and more tricky to follow. It didn't conjour the same imagery that her other novels have. Still interesting and enjoyable but not as absorbing as previous

Took a few pages to figure out who all the characters were, but once that was figured out it was a pleasure. She may have rushed the ending a bIt though. The author spent a lot of time giving all of the background to each of the major characters that it seemed the last 50 pages were rushed to tie up all of the loose ends...

Loved the story, did not like the writing.. Hard to keep everyone straight, too much description...book could havd been much shorter. I finished it but really didnt enjoy it.

This one didn't speak to me quite the way some of the author's other titles have.

A long book with too many characters and a rushed, unsatisfying ending. If one invests so much time to read a book and keep track of the characters, it behooves the author to satisfactorily explain their outcome and wrap up the story completely.

A slow burn throughout the entire novel. Beautiful prose. A ghost story told by a ghost. Similar to the Lovely Bones, the story is told in past/present style but takes very long turns in multiple pasts.

I absolutely loved the pacing in this story. It was slow but not too slow while still wanting to keep reading.

The only drawback was that I didn't feel like it was adequately summed up at the end who each character was in relation to the others in the past. But I could totally look past that since I think that was a "me issue" of reading too fast.

The timelines are skillfully woven, characters interesting and diverse, and I wanted to know how each story wrapped up. Some parts dragged a little, and there were definitely parts that could have been more concise, but overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
