I didn't realize this was a book about a MC. Honestly, if I had, I probably wouldn't have downloaded it. I'm so glad I did. I just downloaded the box set 1-4. I hope they're as good as this one. If so, I will have to get 5-9 as well.

This is a 2.5 read. There were some parts of the story that worked, but mostly this is not for me.

I finished this book in one day, because once I started it I couldn't put it down! There's a great, unique family dynamic in this book. While this is the story of the main characters William Walker Jr. "Liam" and single mother Denise Cunningham, it's actually about the whole family/Club. Throughout the book Denise struggles with making sure her 13 year old twins have what they need and getting caught up in circumstances she's been dealt. Denise starts out knowing what the "Club" does is wrong 100% but as she falls in love with Liam, the line between right and wrong blurs. The Club gives Denise and her kids the family and security that they'd been lacking for a very long time. Liam is a very charming guy, who quickly takes on a protector role to Denise and her twins. Before he knows it, he's in love with them all and protecting them at all costs. I won't give anything away, but I think by the end you can definitely see that though Denise is starting to accept what Liam does, it's Liam who starts to question what he's doing. I imagine this will be the main plot theme of the series. The struggle the Club has between what's too far over the line.

What I most enjoyed about the book is how interwoven the secondary characters were mixed in. I've read a lot of books over the years and sometimes when you read a series it feels like the characters to future and previous books are thrown in for cameos to make it connected. That's not the case here. All the characters you meet are interwoven deeply into the story, it's as much about them as it is about Liam and Denise. To me I feel like secondary characters Tyler and Meredith (who are the main characters for the next book) stole the show and I can't wait for their book!

I do have to warn folks, there is violence and crime in this book. There is also a very graphic scene in the book that could disturb some, but it's necessary to the story. It shows just how gritty and brutal of a world the Club has put themselves in.

It wasn't an extremely great book.. It is about a single mother whose finding it hard to get by to feed her 2 kids. She gets a call for a job along the way meets a biker. Which leads her in a place that makes it difficult for her choose between her life and financial situation.

This story is a fast paced story, it set in right away and had me turning pages. I really loved how the story went, especially Liams attitude towards the single mothers situation and kids. Although, hated how he couldn't stand up towards his father.

The single mother did annoy me in certain situations, it didn't show that she cared a lot about the kids, they more or less raised themselves, she blamed her working and needing money as an excuse. The author did bring her financial situation quite abit.

This story did have other character chapters which were left incomplete and left hanging.

I would recommend this book to those who love MC books, single parent life and abit of drama.

This is another Amazon freebie that I am glad that I picked up! I have a soft spot for MCs...I don't know why, maybe it's all those years watching SOA and falling for the guys.. Maybe it's just something in the air..

Either way, while I wasn't too keen on Denise the heroine I fell over myself to get more of Liam.. His character was so sweet, and yet so much the embodiment of what i would want in a hero!

I’ve been meaning to read Laramie Briscoe’s Heaven Hill series for quite some time, especially with how I’ve really enjoyed other books by the author. Although I devoured Meant to Be in a single sitting, desperate to see how everything played out, I did not love this one in the way I have loved other Laramie Briscoe books.

Meant to Be was an interesting story, one that has left me curious to see how things play out for the other characters throughout the series. Although interesting, it did not hook me in the way I had hoped. The emotions were never as intense as I’d expected, and the events were never as shocking. We touched upon a lot of things that could have made this a powerful read, but they were never taken as far as they could have been.

From reading other Laramie Briscoe books, I know this one is not representative of the author’s usual standard of work. Therefore, my fingers are crossed the series hooks me more the deeper into it I get. There was a lot of potential here, and I’m ready to see it play out in the later books.
