I really enjoyed this. I wish it had actually been a true story, and not just based on them, but I guess maybe it had to be slightly fictionalized to protect the privacy of the people it's based on.
It's a very inspiring, is somewhat sobering book.

A refreshing narrative voice, a plot that holds together, suspense, and victories. I would like Grisham to revisit these guardians.

I just couldn’t get past the White Saviour vibes in this one.

Eh. This started off pretty good, and then fell flat. I keep expecting Grisham's novels to have the same thrill and fast pace as they used to, and the last several have had a more sedate pace. I didn't like the voice of the narrator in this book, for no good reason that I can appreciate. I did object to some of the editing or lack thereof - several sentences ended with exclamation marks and it just felt like his editor had missed an easy correction. But I'm picky like that.

Mystery book about man who works at a non profit to help get people out of prison. Inspiring that it is based off of a real person and stories. Easy to follow along and kept my attention through the entire book.
