I believe reading the MinaLima edition made this book even better due to the colorfulness and the interaction. All of the colors fed my inner child and made me happy. My favorite illustrations were seeing the fields, Glinda's castle, and Emerald City. It honestly felt like a masterpiece.
I think the art style fit so well with Frank Baum's writing. His writing felt lyrical and innocent which made the world feel fantastical. I feel if I read this when I was younger- It would've gotten me into the Fantasy genre. My favorite aspects of the book was The Winged Monkeys lore and the China Country. China Country looked and sounded so cute and I never seen the movies or anything else so I don't know if they're in it!
The politic aspect is also so interesting even though it's hardly mentioned. I imagine it's mentioned in sequels. So was the lesson which was presented kinda adorable. My favorite part was when Oz helped the Lion, the Tinman, and the Scarecrow due to that. But the Tinman never reunited with his love!

My experience with the Wizard of Oz was entirely based on the movie, which I've seen over 100 times. the book is very different and it makes me wish that my mom had read the book to me when I was a samll child.
