Not much to say here as this is a classic evergreen story. This particular rendition was very enjoyable with some fun third-wall breaking metajokes sprinkled in very lightly and easy to miss. As for the rest, the voice acting and sound effects are well done.

DID NOT FINISH: 37%

This book is just too easy to read.  Every sentence is like this.  It is too simple.  Even with some sentences like this one, it is still just for very young children.  The prose is far too easy.  I would say it is a first or second grade book.  This made the book boring.  Really, can you stand much more of this review?  It hurts me to write like this.  It is getting the point across, though.  I could not finish this book.  After 70 pages of this, I had to put it down.

So much fun! Loved seeing the differences after watching the movie countless times.

Like a tale made up on the spot by a dad for his daughter. Did not enjoy the actual book at all. Sometimes I wonder why some books are considered classics. It's not that I don't appreciate a good kids book, I just don't really think this one fits that category.

This was really good!! To those of you who are reading it remember who the true enemy is in this story. It is not the wicked witch.

It was fun, I can see some of the framework and grand ideas for the children’s stories of my childhood. It was a bit simple and silly but…silly isn’t so bad. I loved Scarecrow and Lion  best of all. Scarecrow, thinking he was stupid rather than a newborn made my heart ache but seeing him later nearly made me cry. Lion, too; I don’t know if I could face a giant spider as bravely as him but I like to think, for my friends, I’d try.

This book is a much-celebrated children's classic that transports readers to the enchanting Land of Oz. Dorothy and her loyal dog, Toto, are whisked away from their Kansas home by a powerful tornado, landing in this fantastical realm. Guided by the Good Witch of the North and the Munchkins, Dorothy embarks on a journey along the iconic yellow brick road, with the hope of reaching the Emerald City and seeking aid from the enigmatic Wizard of Oz to find her way back home.

Joined by her newfound companions—the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion—Dorothy's adventure unfolds, revealing a tapestry of friendship, magic, and peril. In this timeless tale, readers are introduced to witches, flying monkeys, and a pair of silver shoes that hold a special significance.

Reflecting on my own experience with this book, I must admit it wasn't one I particularly enjoyed during my own childhood. While this book has undoubtedly captivated countless readers young and old with its whimsical narrative and memorable characters, personal preferences vary, and this particular story may not resonate with everyone in the same way.

Despite my own reservations, I recognize the enduring appeal of this book and its place as a beloved classic in children's literature. Its enduring charm continues to captivate readers and transport them to the magical world of Oz, where adventure and imagination know no bounds.
