A suiting final book for the Red Rising series. As someone who reads a lot I thought I knew most of the twists coming, but they were delivered in unique ways that still left me surprised. I appreciated the end of the book and how it left things finished, but not perfect.

This book was an amazing end to Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown !!

Throughout the trilogy we follow Darrow on his journey from red to gold to something more. But, in Morning Star we see shift from Darrow as the sole focus. Instead, we find that those around him are also just as important in fixing society. We truly see Darrow grow from a child into a man and this is reflected in his actions.

Be prepared… in this book some of the most loved and most hated character die & others live… or maybe they do both (it’s hard to explain you’ll just have to read it to find out).

This. Freaking. Series.

I am SHOOK. Rattled to the core. I was so skeptical going into this trilogy, but by this third installment I knew the ending would be bonkers. I did not anticipate the emotions I was going to go through, nor did I anticipate the multiple times I cried through Morning Star. Oh Pierce, you really got me with this one.

With all our faves scattered across the solar system, this book brings a crew back together for the epic conclusion of a hard fought revolution. We meet some new characters, as well as get to see new versions of some others. One of my favorite things about these books has been the character development. Each character becomes so much more complex while not losing the pieces that make them unique from the other characters.

The scheming and plotting in this one really take the cake, and I thought overall the arc of the story was so well suited. There were many devastating blows, but everything in this one just made so much sense and really strengthened the plot. I was consistently on the edge of my seat and fully gasping out loud throughout listening. I cannot wait to start the next set of novels in this world for more rollercoaster antics.

A solid and resounding 5⭐️ for this one and highly recommend.

I really liked it overall but didn't find it as enthralling as its predecessor. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't boring in any way and certainly had its shiny moments, but I just comparatively loved the political maneuvers in Golden Son. Unfortunately, I also found the pacing somewhat jarring again, especially the ending which felt quite rushed, and I wasn't a fan of the
'unreliable narrator' twist. It felt as if the protagonist blatantly lied to the reader somewhat when it happened, which could have been executed better. Considering that with the subsequent events that lacked any consequences alongside a somewhat cheesy epilogue,
I feel like it kinda soured my experience so I'm afraid there isn't much more to say. I feel like it's a 3.5 ⭐ book ( felt the same about the first one ), but I'mma round up to a 4 since I really enjoyed everything else until that point. I won't be continuing this series till the remaining books come out however, as I am impatient to wait. 😅
