This was about 60% reasonably enjoyable and 40% slightly annoying. It didn't particularly 'wow' me at any point.
As far as I can see it's a fairly typical, run-of-the-mill story dressed up in excessive randomness. Take out all the winged/horned/seahorse/torso-less/tv-headed people and it's all pretty standard. I realise this is only the first volume, but I really hope the world-building isn't entirely of the 'all the contents/inhabitants are items in a poorly-organised, wacky novelty shop' variety. Every time the name of the primary antagonist (thus far), 'Prince Robot', appears I can't shake the feeling I'm being told this story by a fairly creative five-year-old that's making it up as they go.
That said, I loved the characters. I laughed out loud about three times and smiled a couple more (this is pretty high for me, I'm a miserable bastard). If I continue with the series, it'll be for the two protagonists, and to watch them and their relationship develop.

This is the first graphic novel I have read, and it was wonderful. The art was beautiful and clear, and the writing was captivating, and the plot and dialogue were very funny and enjoyable. Very easily finished this in one day, and I can't wait to read the next volumes!!

Une petite heure de détente au beau milieu de lectures universitaires... et pourquoi ne pas avancer dans ma longue liste BD et Comics... La couverture de Saga ses beaux graphismes lisses et sa colorisation délicate s'est donc imposée. Je craignais un peu ne pas retrouver tout ça dans le comic et si! Outre la finesse des dessins et couleurs, c'est un univers mélange de science-fiction et fantastique riche et complexe, chargé de questions et idées sur le but et les raisons de la Guerre (ici aucune), le racisme, les parents, l'amour et la survie. Et bourré d'humour. Je suis sous le charme. Et sur ma faim. Il faut que je me procure le Tome 2... très vite!
