This book deserves 6 stars it is absolutely phenomenal. The writing is so approachable yet poetic and deep at the same time. I was sobbing through the last 10 pages and I don’t recall the last time i felt such hurt because of a book.

I read this book in 2.5 hours. The writing was easy to follow, but very beautiful. Told in three chapters, each one encapsulating a different time in their lives, this story gracefully shows the truth of first loves and first losses. I didn’t realize how quickly this book was going until I flipped to the last page and realized there was no more. I do have to say, the last page was what made me give it five stars. It was going to get 4.5, but the last sentence gave me that, “Wow. I can’t believe it’s over,” feeling. Jack Edwards has truly yet to fail me.
