This was one of the most beautiful romance (and yes, I would call it a romance) novels ever. While tragic, Philippe’s tone throughout the novel stays purely reflective on the thrilling relationship that the characters once had. The recount of the events throughout and after said relationship show the realities of life and sexuality from a young age. I wish I knew how much of this book is fiction vs fact, autobiographical, etc, but it is beautiful and devastating nonetheless.

hmm... 'di ko alam kung ano mararamdaman ko tungkol sa librong 'to. parang may kulang. mas nagustuhan ko lang 'yung kwento nung nasa may bandang gitna na, nung kinakausap na ni philippe yung anak ni thomas . pero for the most part, ewan. somehow... bet ko kung ano yung sinusulat, pero nakukulangan ako sa kung paano siya sinulat? ang ganda ng pagka-melancholic at nostalgic ng prose, pero para sa akin masyadong nag-"tell" si author imbis na "show." ewan, alam ko namang nasa minority ako bilang ang taas ng rating ng librong 'to dito sa goodreads, pero ayon naramdaman ko. ang tagal bago talaga ako na-captivate nung storya. at isa pa, true story ba ito??? 'di ko pa rin knows hahahah
