I could tell from the first chapter that this was one of those books I could read in one sitting. I had to force myself to put the book down. This has the haunting and angsty vibes that we got in Spells for Forgetting but still its own unique story. I loved it, Adrienne Young is officially an auto-buy author for me now!

Just so incredibly beautifully written. The twists and turns keep you on your toes. The threads all throughout the book weave together so intricately into a truly satisfying ending.

The pacing of this book for me was great because I could not put this thing down. I think I read it in a little over 1 day, and not on a weekend either. I enjoyed all of the
time travel
elements, although I'd have to really go back and look at all of the references and rules to make sure it all makes sense in my head and that nothing is amiss for me. Even so, it had a lot of qualities I really enjoy, and I liked the writing style as well. I was going to say 3.5 stars, but I think I've bumped my rating up to 4 while writing this review.

It might change with time, but for now, I recommend it for a quick, mysterious read, with a nice romance and atmospheric writing.

The first 70/75% of this book was so frustrating with the lack of communication between everyone. Some things do wrap up and you understand the "whys" of some decisions. But I felt like people kept too many secrets and didn't communicate with June when she needed to know the information! Also, wish we could have learned more about the Farrow "curse". If it's generational wouldn't the women pass on crucial details instead of being so vague with each other? Where'd the locket come from? Etc...

Overall a good time. Very interesting concept, and I loved the ending. Just a little bit disjointed in execution. I would be open to reading more from Adrienne Young.
