just about to start, today. will let you know.

so, i really enjoyed this book. clean writing style, yet vivid in description, and action packed. as much as i love and live for my stories that center on love, it's nice to read a book where love, while involved, is not the main topic.

i really enjoyed the mythology created around Lorien (the planet the main character's from). quite different.

the characters were easy to get attached to, as well.

I love love loved this book!! I think the concept is out of this world ;). This book offers the perfect amount of science-fiction. I felt as if this story could literally be taking place in our world. I loved the characters already and can't wait to meet the rest of them. If you're looking for an enriching read to be followed up with a series then you should definitely pick this book up today!

I wrote a complete review of this work only to erase it by accident...

*Great read
*why is the author using a pseudonym?
*why do the books not go in order?
*why did i choose to read this novel when I knew a second book had not been published?!?

I wish I felt better about this book than I did, but honestly I'm happy to be able to check it off my list and move on. The story wasn't extraordinarily original, the characters were rather run of the mill and the writing left something to be desired. A few of the action sequences were well done and I got caught up in the moment, but the final battle scene seemed to drag on forever with everything being predictable and the villains all being creatures we've never seen before this moment. One of the big revelations at the end was so obvious, you just felt silly for John that he didn't figure it out way earlier. I'm going to have a hard time convincing myself to read the next book in the series. I do hope the movie is better.
