I just did not like this character and I am having trouble wanting to suggest it to anyone.
Book was hilarious and I enjoyed it especially the beginning where- well I won't spoil it for you! :) Make sure to read this book!
The main character (first person) Sofia is REALLY annoying. Seriously annoying. She's really meanish/delusional and it really bugged me.
For girls who liked Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but wished the protagonist was a girl instead.
How do you get everyone to realize how cool you are when you aren't cool? You start a juicy blog, well as juicy as can be expected when it's moderated by a teacher, that tells all the gossip and rumors floating through school. Sofia isn't really an outcast, but she's also not very popular. Something she feels is due to the school's infatuation with the gorgeous Mia St. Clair, and the fact that they just haven't had the opportunity to experience Sofia's awesomeness. Sofia's blog quickly becomes one of the most popular in the class, but it takes a little introspection for her to decide if this is a good or bad thing.
What I liked about this book was how oblivious Sofia seemed to be. She was so blinded by her hate for Mia St. Clair that she didn't even realize she was pretty much the bad guy here. Her relationships with Mia, and also with her BFF Nona were actually quite similar to Greg Heffley's relationship with Rowley.
It was an ok, fast-paced read, but then most journal-styled stories are.

I won this book on a blog. Yesterday, it arrived in the mail while my 8-year-old daughter and I were home sick. When I took it out of the envelope, she became curious, leafing through it. I should mention that she's been in a big dog phase. She'll read any fiction or non-fiction book related to dogs that she can get her hands on. The only exception has been American Girl novels. She read 64 pages of Gossip from the Girls' Room in one sitting.
Before bed, she read for thirty-minutes and reached page 125.
This morning, she asked to take it to school (that almost never happens). When I picked her up from school, she said she took it out during snack and other students crowded around to see it. After she finished her homework, she took it out of her backpack and finished reading it.
I don't think she's ever read a book in 24 hours before. She loves reading, but this is 198 pages.
The book looks similar to "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" - like a kid's diary with pictures. I've always thought there should be book like that and Captain Underpants but with a girl character. Many times, my daughter laughed out loud and showed me the pictures. Highly recommended for kids.
I'm going to read it next.
*** EDIT *** I read it! What a fun book. My 12-year-old son has started it now.
Rumors from the Boys' Room comes out in spring 2012. When it does, I'll but it for my kids and me.

Diary of a Social Climber, more like. Kind of a snooze.
Sofia Becker is a sixth-grade at Middlebrooke Middle School. She writes an anonymous blog for the school as the Blogtastic Blogger. Sofia hopes that the blog will increase her popularity. In this blog, she writes about gossip that’s about teachers and students. Most of the gossip she hears she learns about when she’s eavesdropping in the girls’ bathroom. She can’t stand Mia St. Clare, so she often talks about her and other social climbers. Mia St. Clare is the most popular girl and apparently, Sofia’s crush Andrew likes Mia. Sofia is so angry. Will Mia snag Sofia’s crush? Will the blog increase Sofia's popularity?
I really liked this book. The drawings are so adorable. The book is described as “A Blogtastic Novel”, but it’s said that it’s a pre-blogging notebook. There are blog entries in the book, but it’s set-up on notebook paper. So, I was expecting something different. I still enjoyed it though. This book reminds me of the Dork Diaries, so children or adults that like that series should like this one as well. This is a very quick and enjoyable read. I’m a sucker for books that have cute drawings. The next book,Rumors from the Boy's Room, will be out in Spring of 2012. I'm not sure how Sofia will pull that one off, but I can't wait to find out.

Suatu ketika pernah buku catatan khusus sebelum ngeblog milik Sofia hilang!
*untung saya bukan termasuk cewek tenar. jadi, begitu ketemu teman-teman SMP lagi, saya mah biasa aja.
Rasanya? Senaaaaaaaaang! Bukan mimpi buruk! :p
Apalagi ketika kamu sadar, ibumu mengajar di sekolah tempatmu bersekolah. Pasti senewen, ya. Yah, kebayang, sih. Kalo ngajarnya nggak enakeun, bisa jadi masalah buat si anak tuh...
Anyway by the way busway, saya sebal dengan karakter Sofia ini. Haha. Apaan, sih. Namanya juga masih ABG. Wajar aja kalo pola pikirnya ajaib.
Well, Rose Cooper menulis karakter Sofia Becker - anak SMP - dengan karakter alami, standar anak SMP yang biasa banget. Nggak terlalu pintar, nggak terlalu cantik. Super biasa aja. Dengan masalah-masalah standar anak SMP. Meski nggak berhasil membuat saya tergelak atau menangis, lumayan lah. Sempet geregetan sama Sofia, apalagi pas isi bukunya dibaca sama yang menemukannya. :D

Not quite as bloggy as Lauren Myracle's TTFN series, but definitely in the family (along with The Popularity Papers, TMI and other middle-school blogger books).
This isn't really a blog, more a notebook about a blog, where Sofia's pre-blog thoughts are jotted down. Of course there's the BFF, and the Girl We Hate - oddly there's no Current Crush (on Sofia's part, anyway). The blog is part of her "activity" class, journalism, and is supposed to capture all the gossip that's fit to blog. Of course she makes mistakes (her advisor'scommentslectures will be good pointers for real-life bloggers) and learns a few lessons about what to blog along the way.
