A beautiful and heartbreaking story. The characters were so vivid and I could see all the different places and eras so clearly. I've never read about Brazil during these times so that was neat and taught me some things. What a world we all live in.

Such a long-winded story. I feel like it could’ve been 1/3 shorter and more impactful. Reminded me of Daisy Jones & the Six, but set in Brazil and a couple decades earlier. I wanted to love it and had its moments, but as a whole, it was much too long.
A sweeping, compelling historical saga of female friendship, music, and heartbreak that stretches from the sugar plantations of northern Brazil to the music scene of Rio to the studio lots of 1940's Hollywood.
