My expectations for every book I read now will be how it stacks up to this one. Brilliant.
Amazing. I could try and coherently describe why this book is good, but you'll just have to take my word for it until you read it yourself.
He should have taken his own advice and stopped after four chapters.
I didn't find this book as hysterical or clever as everyone else did.
I read this book years ago for college. I can't remember anything except that I hated it at the time. Who knows what I would think now, but I'm not planning to revisit it.

This book made me physically angry - I want to punch something, particularly Dave Eggers. I refuse to give it any more of my time and, as such, refuse to write a review.
I get that it's cool to hate Dave Eggers and all, but the truth is that he's a very talented, witty, and original writer.
I may have enjoyed the cleverness of the preface, etc etc, and his writing style/wit/etc etc more than the actual story, but I still don't think he deserves all the hate he gets.
I mean what are you people reading that you think is so much better? Middlesex? Gimme a break.

A friend gave me a well-worn copy of this book after my dad died. I was in so much grief I honestly don't remember much detail about it, but I know that I finished it, and that somehow it both kept me from thinking about my dad too much while also helping me work through his death. So although I could not tell you the plot of this book to save my life, I remember putting it down and thinking, "I'm sorry this is over, that was a great book."
I found the meta elements very clever. That feeling of being young and needing to change the world, to be known. A touch longer than it needed to be.
