Very dense, but very moving at times. This book was hard for me to get through based on its sheer verbosity, but the overall themes of self-awareness and human fragility felt tangible to the point that they stuck in my throat. Enjoyed the breaking of the 4th wall as well. Happy to have read it, but didn’t necessarily enjoy reading it.

I really wanted to love this book but mostly I was lost. It was so stream of consciousness that I never knew where I was or what I was supposed to be feeling. This book was so highly recommended and I mostly feel like a failure for not understanding it.

This book is perfection. The audiobook version narrated by Dion Graham somehow manages to be even more perfect. One of my favorite audiobooks of all time.

DID NOT FINISH

I read 3/4 of this book and couldn’t take the sarcasm any longer. What’s cute and unique at the beginning turns repetitive and excessive after page 50. However, those first fifty pages were a blast and the development of the brothers relationship was sweet to witness, so for those reasons, it’s a two.

The line between pretentious post-modern lit that I like and pretension post-modern lit that I don't is inscrutable even to me. I liked this one.

Didn't hold my interest.
