Painful at times, because it's so true.

Decided I don't like Jeffrey Brown's illustrations when they're just black and white and simple like many of these (I started with his amazing and adorable Star Wars work). But I liked the premise of Clumsy; otherwise, it was just too messy and difficult to read and enjoy at a nice pace. Maybe I'll pick it up again later.

Not to be dramatic but this is pretty bad.
The art-style would be ok, if it wasn’t because the sloppiness of the art transfers to the lettering/text, there were quite a few times where I simply had  to give up on trying to figure out what a text box said.

Other than that,  I got to be honest, I made the mistake of opening the book on a random page, and the first thing I read/saw was the comic about how “Jeff can’t come while wearing a condom” so they just have unprotected sex, leading to what I assume was supposed to be read as a pregnancy scare (but from the perspective of a man who really wasn’t that worried about the whole deal so it’s basically just him going “oh you’re not pregnant? Cool”)… so yeah….

I’m not going to say that Theresa is a saint, honestly I don’t like her that much. But. Jeff is so manipulative towards her, which is kinda horrifying, considering this is autobiographical.

So all in all. I really don’t like this book. And I actually think I might hate the author.

Note to the author: maybe buy some condoms that fits you instead of going “oH No I cANNot ComE wiTh a CoNdoM” when you want to have sex. Like seriously dude.

I'm glad this wasn't the first Jeffrey Brown I read. If it had been, I probably wouldn't have read any more. (He gets better.)
