If I had to teach a writing class on how to write the perfect character, I would just give them this book. Spectacular and Will Patton’s narration of the audiobook was the best medium to digest this story :)

i absolutely love this series and im so happy to finally sit down for a reread! the first time i read the raven cycle was 2016 which is mad, it doesn't seem all that long..

though it has been long enough that while i think of these books often, ive forgotten a lot of the finer details. it truly feels like seeing a bunch of old friends and going on an adventure

its pretty slow to start, but that's due to heavy lore and world building which i find fascinating anyways.. but come the second half of the book i hated putting it down

i genuinely love the characters, and find it so intriguing that not a single character is without flaws.. its so delicious to me

i literally cannot wait to reread the rest of the series!

This book exceeded my expectations (and I already had high ones)!! The characters are so loveable and so so so deep!! You know it is good writing when it makes them seem real. I can't decide which one is my favorite, everyone has parts I like about them or relate to. Also love the vibe I've felt while reading it, imagined 300 Fox Way as a cozy whimsi gothic home!! Still, I feel like there is something I've missed while reading, like I didn't fully understand what is happening. This is the only reason I rate this book 4,5 stars instead of 5.

I rated this 5 stars when I read it 10 years ago, and honestly that’s fair I’d probably give it 4 or 4.5 now so I just rounded up to 5. I definitely still have questions but there’s 3 books left to answer them.  I love Noah Czerny <3 and Adam Parrish aaaaah <333 honestly all the Raven boys have my heart in their own ways. Adam has me so confused and I definitely roll my eyes at him sometimes but also I loved his character as a whole.

I need to start taking better review notes as I read bc I did have thoughts I wanted to put in this review but they’re all gone now of course. I’m excited to read the rest of the series!

in the first half of this book i swear absolutely nothing happened. and then it got good all of a sudden and that took me by surprise. i had really high expectations which to say i was a bit disappointed but not totally. the plot however was confusing and i spent most of the time not knowing what they were talking about
