A sad, slow, heavy, reflective book. Definitely well-written and I can see why it's labelled as a modern classic, but it didn't blow my socks off. Maybe it's because I've read a couple slower-paced books in a row that I just found this to be extra-slow, but at the base of it a solid piece nonetheless.
