Interested in being Fauja Singh when I grow up.

Incredible, inspiring, absolute chills. This book is about the oldest man to ever run a marathon. Fauja Singh was told as a kid that he would never be able to walk, however his mom encouraged him everyday by saying to him, “You know yourself, and you know what you’re capable of. Today is a chance to do your best.” Such powerful words! A true testament to the idea that there are no boundaries except the ones that you set for yourself. Praise to the author and illustrator for telling this incredible man’s story so well. Time to start running!

I cannot wait to share this with my students.

What an inspirational story.
The footnote about the Guinness World Record officials is infuriating, and a perfect example of cultural ignorance.

One of the bestest non-fiction books out there. We gobbled it up, and then some. Great role model, and especially for young kids, sometimes it is great to hear that even as an old person one can be inspiring!

So sweet. So inspiring. So amazing. Wow.

All of the yes for every single portion of this book, especially Sikh in the City t-shirts. I'd read this to a group of later elementary age kids for sure.

An inspiring tale of the the oldest man to ever complete a full marathon. A man who didn't let the naysayers get him down. A man who refused to let his slow start get in his way. Stories such as these need to be documented and shared.

Yeah I'll never run in a marathon and I'm thirty. So to do it at 100....BRAVO Fauja Singh!

What a sweet, and incredibly inspiring story of one man and his determination, athleticism, and faith.
