This book took me so long to read due to university deadlines but boy, this was a wild ride.

The story follows and unknown man, who you later learn about as the story unfolds, who is stuck reliving the same day for 8 days until he solves the murder of the families daughter, Evelyn Hardcastle. Along the way there are revels, turns and damn weird circumstances then feed into the story and the events that are occurring.

Good Points:
- The plotting of the book was amazing - Stuart Turton is a mystery genius in that all characters somewhat fit into the story and play a vital role in the story telling.
- The characters are morally grey but sometimes you can't help but feel for them, adding an emotional level to the story.
- In my opinion, the story was rapped up fairly nicely with most questions answered.

Bad (ish) Points:
- The story could at some points be confusing in that it does jump a little, but you do understand the plot despite this.
- The story was slightly repetitive, but it was still interesting enough.
- I guessed one of the plot twist which I think is becoming more typical in mystery novels.
- I thought the ultimate reveal at the end was slightly underwhelming, and thought another route could have been taken, though it this does not take away from the ending.

All in all, i though this book was expertly told, with a well thought out premise which I would argue was done well. There were some minor issues, but i feel like they were personal gripes that i had with the story and does not effect the overall enjoyment of the books.

I would highly recommend this book :)

After reading this I feel so annoyed lol. It was a super slow paced mystery that really didn’t resonate with me. I didn’t find it particularly interesting and just wanted it to be over the whole time I was reading. The book does have a unique plot I’ll give it that. It’s unlike any book I’ve read but it really just wasn’t for me. I didn’t feel like as the reader I could put together enough clues to solve the mystery myself. I literally didn’t know who the murderer was until the very end.
