There were definitely some plot holes in Oscar and Smith's stories i feel like. There were also some parts that seemed to drag on. Overall though I like Luke and what he did for Smiths and I'm hoping the next 3 books pick up faster
Just cannot put any of these books down. You think you finally know what is going on and another person is introduced with a crazy twist on things. I thought I was going to be disappointed with the way the siblings were going to play out but I liked the way they were at the end of this book.
So weird revisiting these lol. This book did not make very much sense, but it was still quick paced and there were things I liked. I would love to know what this story would be like if it had the breathing room of YA lit and could allow for more world building
Holy crap these seriously keep getting better and better and I'm absolutely loving them! But now I have to wait until the audiobook for bk5 comes on my Libby app. I NEEEEED book 5 now!!!
Definitely my favorite. It was so good and just....had a lot of hidden meaning
This book was back to being in Luke's perspective, although Nina did make a cameo appearance. Each book in the series is building towards something and, as result, tends to end on a slightly cliffhanger note. The author does an excellent job of wrapping the story up sufficiently that each book forms a tight episode but leaves enough unresolved to make me eagerly seek out the next book in the series.
Note: The cover on the book I read doesn't match the cover pictured here despite having the same ISBN.

I was able to connect with Luke and Smits in this book, more than I’d connected with Luke in the previous Shadow Children books. All of the mixed allegiances toward the end were confusing but I think they resolved nicely enough.
Second time reading this and I totally forgot that Smits' parents died but I remembered that Smits didn't die. Love this series rn
This one was somewhat confusing because it really stepped up the level of paranoia/you can't trust anything or anyone. No one is safe and it had me questioning the loyalties of everyone that Luke/Lee came into contact with. And the end had me reeling trying to figure out what was really going on. I wish I had the rest of the books to finish out the series because I could read them all in one sitting (since they are kid's books!)
