Estou feliz que minha mãe morreu by Jennette McCurdy

I was shocked by most of what I read. Notably, that Jennette was Mormon growing up. Aside from iCarly, I didn’t know much else. I was shocked and I think most readers will come to understand Jennettes feelings about her mother being justified. Family does not always have your best interest at heart.

I’m Glad My Mom Died was a brutally honest and gut-wrenching memoir. Jennette’s vulnerability and authenticity shine through in her writing, and I’m in awe of her resiliency and healing. Although I’m Glad My Mom Died is written in a very easy, digestible way, the content of the book may be too intense for some readers. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook since Jennette does her own narration!

Wow. You never know what someone is going through until you know them. Obviously, none of us know Jennette McCurdy personally but this book gives you insight to just how little we thought we knew. It made me cry, it made me chuckle, and it made me think. She has a way of story telling, I would recommend the audiobook narrated by her if you can give it a listen.

What a compelling, emotional story. I truly hope this book helps her heal and keep moving forward for the better. She is also a great writer, excited to hopefully see more of her work (possibly screenplays, books, and more?!)

Therapy isn't enough. I need to dig up Debra McCurdy, end her again, and then demolish any and every system that allows parents to exploit their children!

wow. i am honestly left speechless. i could not put this book down. i know that lots of famous people experience hardships and emotional challenges, but to read about the details impacted me on another level. this journey that Jennette unpacks is deeply saddening but also refreshing to hear about her taking back control of her life. i will support her forever. i honestly want to send her my best and i wish her all the luck in her recovery journey
