The Kindle version seemed to have some trouble with special characters. Every time one was used it would show up as �. I could usually figure out which special character was missing (most often it was £ followed by a number) so it didn't impede my enjoyment of the stories.

A collection of 12 quirky short stories concerning some of Sherlock's most intriguing cases. There is a consistent theme among these cases; nothing is what it seems on the surface. One must look at every tiny detail to solve them. A worthwhile read for anyone who likes Sherlock stories, or is thinking of diving in and would like an easy read.

I’m not sure if the stories got better over the course of the book, or maybe I just got settled in with the style. It’s partially formulaic, but it has a wide array of mysteries and crimes and different enough plots in each that it didn’t become the same thing again and again. Also at points it became kind of horror themed? A man got locked in a hydraulic press that was going to crush him in one story, had me on the edge of my seat. If you stop and read slowly, playing the scenes in your head, you can really get a taste of the characters, and I find Holmes to be delightful to read about.
