Quite odd, but still good. Probably wouldn't read again, but it was interesting. Makes you think a little bit about human nature: how far you'd go for a love interest and if they would go that far for you.

I read this for English class but it is easily one of my favorite books now.

Do you know that feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction when, after hyping something up for a really long time, you finally do it, and it turns out to be even better than what you expected it to be? Well, that's how reading this book made me feel.

I love classics.

"They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made."

What's old (1920's) is made new again (2025) in that quote. The wealthy living their lives as they do and generating a fallout around everyone else on some scale or another. I appreciated the writing of the book, didn't care for the casual racism though.
