Disclaimer: this graphic novel is marketed as being from Jamie’s point of view or as seeing Jamie’s side of the story and while that is technically true, it is not wholly true. We also see Murtaugh’s, Claire’s, Dougal’s, and some random guy named Kenneth’s POV. Also Diana literally says in the introduction that it’s from Murtaugh’s POV, and having read it, I would say that that’s correct.

Anyways … the art is absolutely GORgeous and extremely cinematic and feels very fitting to the novel itself. I also very much enjoyed seeing things from perspectives other than Claire’s, very refreshing and enlightening. Idk if I’d read it again, but I’d maybe reopen it to look at the art more closely :)

This was so .. odd? I don’t feel like this story lends itself to a graphic novel very well - it reads like Outlander Cliff’s notes, with DG’s trademark rich detail completely removed. The art didn’t super speak to me either, most of the men looked so alike at times it became tricky to discern who was who. I enjoyed the tavern before the wedding the most, and of course we love to see Murtagh being a badass as usual.
Overall it felt unecessary.

.. and Kenneth? 🤨 We don’t talk about Bruno ..🎵

Good overview of the first outlander. Didn’t love the illustrations though there’s clearly talent there. Bit of a pointless book except as an overview
