Saved the best for last—this was my favorite of the Reluctant Royals series. Cute and fun and sweet and very hot.

nya and johan’s love story was so soft i felt my whole being melt as i read it. our two heroes have gone through so much and to find each other like they did and explore each other? it was sooo sweet. johan’s a sweetheart who was just too overprotective. nya’s growth was wonderful. she was able to become the person she wanted to be all along and the two truly deserved their happy ever after!!!!

I mean, what else was I to expect with an Alyssa Cole story? The characters are fantastic. The story is fun. The romance is sweet and lovely. This entire series is going to be my go-to books for when I need a happy place.

Thank you Netgalley and HarperCollins for providing the ARC for an honest review.

Loved it! I swooned many times.
Some of the plots fell flat for me (I didn't really care about the referendum) but the pining? Sigh. A rake with a heart of gold gets me every time.

not DNFing but pausing

for some reason i thought these were standalones, and maybe they are advertised that way but i gotta say i was really confused with all of the characters are the beginning. i'm almost 100% positive that all of the side characters were from book 1 and 2 and i'm sure had i read those books i would have fallen into this book immediately.

but honestly my confusion grew and my enjoyment was middle of the road because of it. i have a feeling i could really love this book but i think i'm going to wait to read it until i read the rest of the series.

I’ve heard what an amazing writer Alyssa Cole is, so when the opportunity to read one of her books came about, I jumped on it! And of course, me being me, I started with the third book in her Reluctant Royals series, A Prince on Paper, instead of reading the first book like a normal person would. It all worked out though because I really loved it and now I’m even more eager to get started on the rest of the series! A Prince on Paper was excellent and I enjoyed it so much!

It was easy to fall in love with Nya and Johan, they’re so cute and sweet together and on their own, they squeezed my heart and made it ache. They’re absolutely perfect and aren’t what everyone assumes them to be. They see each other, inspire one another, and push themselves to be better, stronger people. I just absolutely adored Nya and Johan — they’re wonderful!

I went into A Prince on Paper doubly blind because I only vaguely skimmed the synopsis and since Alyssa Cole was new to me, I didn’t know exactly what to expect, though I did expect great things and I definitely got it! It was fun and made me laugh and giggle quite a bit. It amused me and tugged on my heartstrings and made me want to wrap my arms around the characters and surround them with love. A Prince on Paper was fantastic and heartwarming and I’m so happy that Nya and Johan got their happily-ever-after and I really hope that Ms. Cole writes Lukas’ book sometime in the future!

1) A Princess in Theory ★★★★
2) A Duke by Default ★★★★

The Reluctant Royals series is a consistently fun and escapist romance series that I absolutely adore. And this book fits right in line with the other two books in this series, this time with a heart-of-gold playboy and a fake engagement. Just like with the other two stories in this world, Alyssa Cole's character work is the shining star with a fun and engaging plot to accompany them. While A Duke by Default remains my favorite, A Prince on Paper is a close second.
