she said:
'the bigger your carbon footprint, the bigger your moral debt';
'i want you to act as if our house is on fire because it is';
'this ongoing irresponsible behaviour will no doubt be remembered in history as one of the greatest failings of humankind'

but hearing that in 2024 knowing we've made none of the progress she wanted is beyond jarring, sorry greta

I imagined it would be better but it is alot of repetition of the same things and that threw me off.

I admire Greta and her resilience in her activism even while receiving a lot of negative attention. Her message in this book is simple and she alludes to the science rather than sharing more of the concrete facts, but that’s really what I’d expect, and in audiobook form I think her emotion and dedication really comes across.

However, even while it’s made clear that this is a collection of speeches, the repetitive nature does begin to drag, and it’s a shame for a book that could raise awareness to have your attention wane like that.

Basically what everyone else is saying: very compelling but very repetitive as it is just a collection of speeches.

I loved reading this out loud and discussing with my children.
