Quite a trip! A book that teases big ideas, couched within what starts of as a basic murder mystery, but which starts to get increasingly bizzare as one moves further. The tone of the book too shifts from being a bit lighthearted at the beginning to extremely dark. A rather layered and complex plot, with twists I did not see coming. The main characters themselves are not that complex, but they do have interesting character arcs. On the whole though the book is more plot and concept driven than character driven.
Fair warning: one may be left with a sense of "wtf did I just read," but that honestly just made me enjoy the book more.
