rashthedoctor's review
3.0
This special consists of 2 stories ,
one involves a sort of combined epilogue to the future quest (My Review can be read here ) and the Death of Hawkman (My Review can be read here ) story line .
This story shows what happened in the immediate aftermath to Adam Strange in the Death of Hawkman storyline . We see Adam recover his memories by finding similarities in the Quest world to his own existing DC world . One such similarities being Hawkman and Birdman .
In terms of what happened I felt a bit let-down as not much happened apart from. The action that did take place was very little and very insignificant and the whole story progression felt jarring at times .
The Second story in the special was sort of a preview to the upcoming Top Cat comics . Amusingly we find out how Top cat is portrayed as a grade-a Jerk and not some groovy cat , who has betrayed everyone he could and is somehow now trapped at Gotham city and as his first encounter meets Batman and Catwoman and runs a clever commentary on how strange a relationship the duo shares .
This story was sort of amusing but not really anything worth raving about
The art for both stories was stellar and considering it was a special I didn't expect much , but the synopsis stating it will deal with aftermaths of Death of Hawkman , made my hopes rise only to falter reading this issue . Overall not something worth spending cash upon
