Am I surprised that Ella did the damn thing, again? *smirks* no. Even with branching out and writing genres Ella hasn’t tackled before it didn’t matter, because anything that she imagines turns to gold. And this world and characters she’s created is only a testament to just how brilliant her mind is.
A King So Cold consumed me. It isn’t like anything Ella has written before, but her writing remained the same. It flowed seamlessly and captured you and didn’t let go even when you reached the end. The elements within this story are just astounding. I got lost numerous times with the exceptional writing and these larger than life characters. There were times I didn’t know where this story was going, and whichever way it went though I trusted in Ella and in what she had envisioned.
With this being Ella’s first dip into writing fantasy she did it impeccably. Her storytelling is just masterful and with this book you can’t help but be transported to this magical and alluring world she’s created. I was completely awestruck and I hope Ella continues writing this genre because I need more of these extraordinary stories.
A King So Cold was a mesmerizing tale of love, friendship, heartache, loyalty, redemption, and sacrifice. I felt every emotion and then some. And it wouldn’t be Ella if she didn’t have you gasping for air with the amount of angst in this book. I was blown away with this story and these characters. A truly stunning, magical, and phenomenal book—absolute perfection.

Can’t actually rate because this was a DNF for me
LOVED the Swan and the Savage but when I started this one I literally just couldn’t get into it- I don’t know if the 50 year age difference weirded me out, and while I kinda wanted to know if they’d get back together from the memory lapse, I had no other desire to read it.
Maybe I’ll come back to it, but probs not.

This book contained everything I loved but also so much more.
The story and the plot was so interesting and intricate. I loved this world that the author has introduced me to. We only get to see a little of it but through the stories told, I believe there is so much more going on in this world. Oh and there are also Fae! I am excited for upcoming books in this series so that we can explore this vast world with numerous creatures lurking.
The characters were also amazing. I loved our Queen, Audra and how much of an evil queen she was. I know it sounds wrong but I loved her viciousness even though who she is today is the byproduct of her upbringing. Her character is so interesting and complex that I never wanted to leaver her mind. Her magical abilities is interesting and I wished to explore more of it.
There is so much that goes on in this story. It is one about revenge, but on top of that there is a lot that goes on in this kingdom. I do not want to say much more so that I do not spoil anything but there is a lot that goes on in this world.
The romance was my favourite thing in this book. They were so cute, I loved them with everything inside me. I honestly think that this couple has made it to my top list. And you will know why once you read it. It is honestly my favourite thing. Audra and her man have my heart.
I herd there may be more books in this series but I am not entirely sure, so heres to hoping I get to read more of my favourite couple and this amazing vast, intricate world that Ella Fields has created.

In the beginning the story was a bit confusing. Wasn't sure what to make out of it, but it gets better and better. A very fast pace story, interesting world building and I just love the unapologetic main character. Sometimes a bit more details or explanation would have been more helpful though. I would give it 3,5 stars but rounding it up to 4.
A king so cold is the first book I’ve read by Ella Fields, I don’t know other work of her so I can’t compare them.
I’ve read this book in a buddy read with Amanda. This is to be honest the only reason why I kept reading this book. I liked the world building in the book, the way she told the story was another thing I liked in the book.
I didn’t like Audra for starters, I didn’t feel any sympathy for her and the decisions she made, made me feel aversion to her. The only moment when I felt sympathy to her was when Raiden told the beginning of their story, told his view of her when he met her. The sympathy however disappeared when the story continued.
The sex scenes were in my opinion vulgar and had no big meaning to the story, this however was very present in the book. There was overall more lust than love between the love triangles.
The story I found was confusing, it starts in the middle and has multiple flashbacks to tell the whole story. Many books start that way and it takes time for me to get in the story and get to know the characters, to make the puzzle pieces fit together, something that works for me because I want to know how things start. This story however stays confused for me all the way to the end and I didn’t like the way the ending of this story.

In this land of magic and mystery, a cruel queen rules, one set on revenge but with a heart turned cold. Audra is the perfect blend of vengeance and passion, cruelty and kindness. And let’s not forget our dark, sexy Lord Zad. What starts out as a quest to punish a lost king turns into so much more and you’ll not guess the twists and turns this story leads to. I most certainly enjoyed this fantastical, passionate, and devastatingly complex world!

If you missed one section of a sentence, you might miss an important bit that will make the story confusing. I found this happened multiple times. Such a descriptive book but felt so emotionless.
This book is not at all what the synopsis said it was. It does this weird time jump thing. The female main character is somehow cruel and also deeply uninteresting. At the part where she made someone drink their own pee, I just decided I’d rather read something else this weekend.
DNF at 10%. The world building is non-existent. I get it’s a fantasy romance but there needs to be a balance between romance & fantasy. I don’t enjoy being thrown into a fantasy world with zero explanation as to wtf is going on.
