If you LOVE a badass FMC and feeling as though you cannot trust anyone or anything, this is the book for you!!!
The beginning is very mysterious, lots of things up in the air, I didn't care for any characters at all really, at first. But, I could tell the set up was TOO good to put down.
Love as described in this book, is SO REAL! Real ups and downs, strong problems, pains, betrayal, unknowns. Wow, wow, wow. Then love is also Sacrifice, forgiveness, passion, devotion.
The dialogue in this book is outstanding and does not compare to any others I have read. Most books struggle to find the right words and they come out as cringe. In this book, every character says the PERFECT words to describe their feelings, intentions, etc and it is all crafted wonderfully.
There are points where you will question your sanity. It fr seems that you can't trust ANYONE. I imagine The Office standoff/gun circle meme...
MAJOR WHIPLASH!
Audra is a mix of beauty, cunning, strength, wicked, and all things in between. What a one-of-a-kind FMC.. One of her sassy quotes that I had to write down: "I rewrapped my scarf around my neck. I'd never needed protection from the cold, but I did need to look fabulous. My own rules, and I adored abiding by them."
In order to not give spoilers, I feel I cannot give any opinions of the males. But the one in the end that counts ;) HOT DAMN

I found myself not wanting to read. I completely disliked Audra, and I don't know who I am supposed to want her with. Neither Raiden nor Zad is that great. Started skimming, but it didn't get any better for me.
This was my first fantasy/paranormal romance read ever and it was positively enchanting. I'm 100% OBSESSED with this book. This landed on my kindle around midnight and I stayed up until around 7 am just so I could finish this. If I could offer any advice it would be to go into this book having read no spoilers or anything about the plot. After reading this I realized that the blurb is vague for a reason. I cannot tell you how many twists there are in this book. So many things happened that I was not expecting at all. I thought I had figured everything out after the first couple of chapters, but boy was I wrong. This book perfectly represents what I love about reading. I was able to fully immerse myself into this story because it lacked the predictability that many books have. It was unlike anything I have ever read before and that made me enjoy it all the more. I also love that all the secondary characters were given a key role in the story, they weren't there just to be there, they had real purpose. It was bittersweet getting to the end of the story because I just wanted more of it. I was the tiniest bit upset with how it end because I loved this story so hard. I really do hope that Ella expands on the storyline for the Queen because I feel like I just need more of her story.
This book needs to be experienced, not just simply read. The journey that it takes you on will be filled with chaos and destruction, love and heartbreak, secrets and truth. You will not make it through reading this book without feeling it's impact. My heart broke more times than I could count reading this and somehow Ella was able to piece it back together and wrap it up with a bow, served on a silver platter. I promise whatever you think you know, you don't. Get ready for this manically beautiful story

Audiobook. Narration and writing were acceptable, but the story was wretched. I
lost 14.5 hours of my life to this drivel. The only reason I continued listening was to see if the main character Audra had any redeeming qualities, and in the last 30 mins, her heart maybe grew 1/2 size larger. Ugh - so many better books available, don't waste your time on this one.

This book threw me for a loop but in the best way possible. I absolutely adored reading about a villain FMC (strong Maleficent vibes). I both hated and loved Raiden. But I adored Zad and for the longest time during this book, I was worried Ella would break my heart with Zad. The storytelling was beautiful and harsh. The world she created oh so interesting. And the HFN ending...I just know the second book will re-break my heart all over.
