I will make it short: Long build-up for pretty much nothing, many plot holes, manages to be offensive to both mentioned religions - at least it was a fast and steady read so two stars instead of one.

It was good, not five stars good, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be based on the one and two star reviews. My biggest beef is that I didn't feel like it all tied in together well enough. Either big parts were missing or some should have been taken out all together maybe. Not sure but this isn't his best.

I didn't really like tihs book. For me it was pretty anti-climatic. You wait the whole book for SOMETHING to happen and it finally does in the last 3 pages and even then it wasn't really intriguing. :( The only good thing that came from it was it somehow got me wanting to go back to church regularly LOL not sure why but it did :)

John Saul is one of my favorite authors. I don't read a lot of horror, but I find him to generally be suspenseful and creepy, and a fun easy read. With that being said, this is probably my least favorite of all of his that I have ever read.

The book is set at a private Catholic school and is a battle between good and evil. Possessions, murder, and things are not what they seem.

I felt like the ending was out of place, and the "twists" were all very predictable. I also feel like there were a lot of unanswered questions. All in all, not his best. I wouldn't recommend this one, but would recommend some of his earlier novels, such as Midnight Voices or Brain Child.

I love John Saul and I always eargerly await his next book. This book was no different. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and wondering what could happen.

The reason that I didn't give this book more than 3 stars was because it was like a 70s devil flick, except it took place in the 21st century. When I say 70s devil flick, I think of the Omen, Rosemary's Baby and, The Exorcist. Except in this book the devil is reincarnated by an exorcism?!

Overall I would recommended at least reading this book if you are a fan of John Saul. It is classic John Saul and should at least keep you interested long enough to finish the book.

It ended a bit abruptly and some characters from the beginning were never seen again. All and all, an OK beach book (which is what it was for me).
