The scientific and history sections was a lot to read through. I also got bored of the pace in the middle. A lot happened all at once in the bugging then slowed down when nothing was happen per say. I was also taken back by what the main character when through. It was hard to read and seemed out of left field for the vibe of the book.

I loved the idea behind this book, but enjoyed some of the specific details less. I’m really familiar with the area this takes place, so the location in particular was really fun.

The dialogue felt awkward, but the fast pacing kept me interested. I was disappointed that the murders weren’t actually at the hands of a lake monster.
